Welcome to ChATs! This Privacy Policy (“Privacy Policy”) explains how we collect, use, store, share, and protect your personal information when you use the ChATs platform, including our website and mobile applications distributed via Google Play and the Apple App Store (the “Service”).
ChATs is operated by a private entity (“ChATs”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) and acts as the data controller for personal data processed through the Service.
1. Information We Collect and How We Use It
1.1 Account Information
When you create an account on ChATs, we collect:
- Email address
- A unique internal user ID
- Date of birth (only where required to verify age eligibility)
Purpose:
- Account creation and authentication
- User support and communication
- Service updates and security notifications
1.2 Device and Technical Information
When you use the Service (including via WebView mobile apps), we may collect:
- Device type, operating system, browser type
- App version
- IP address (for security, fraud prevention, and analytics)
Purpose:
- Service stability and performance
- Debugging and security monitoring
- Aggregated analytics
1.3 Authentication via Third-Party Providers
If you sign in using third-party authentication services (e.g., Google or Apple), we receive:
- Your name
- Email address
- A provider-specific user identifier
We do not receive or store your third-party account passwords.
1.4 User Content and Bot Interactions
We collect and store:
- Messages and prompts you submit to AI bots
- Responses generated by bots
Purpose:
- Operating the Service
- Displaying chat history to you
- Improving system quality and reliability
1.5 Third-Party AI Services
ChATs enables you to interact with multiple AI models simultaneously. To provide this functionality, the text content of your messages and conversation context is transmitted to the following third-party AI service providers for processing:
- OpenAI (GPT models) — Privacy Policy
- Google (Gemini models) — Privacy Policy
- Anthropic (Claude models) — Privacy Policy
- xAI (Grok models) — Privacy Policy
- DeepSeek (DeepSeek models) — Privacy Policy
- Perplexity AI (Perplexity models) — Privacy Policy
- Mistral AI (Mistral models) — Privacy Policy
What data is shared: Only the text content of your messages and conversation context is sent to these providers. We do not share your email address, account details, or other personal information with AI providers.
How data is shared: Messages are sent via API to the selected AI providers when you submit a message. Each provider processes your data according to their own privacy policy.
User consent: Before using the Service, you are asked to consent to this data sharing. You may withdraw consent at any time by discontinuing use of the Service.
Some providers may also route through OpenRouter, an API aggregation service (Privacy Policy), which acts as an intermediary to deliver AI responses.
1.6 Data Analysis and Anonymized Use
We may use conversation data and usage data in aggregated and anonymized form only, for analytics, service improvement, and research. Such data does not contain information that can reasonably identify you.
If you do not wish your data to be included in anonymized analysis, you may opt out by contacting us at admin@chats.cool.
1.7 Analytics
We use analytics tools to understand how users interact with the Service. These tools collect aggregated usage data and do not allow us to personally identify users.
1.8 Cookies and Similar Technologies
We use cookies and similar technologies to:
- Maintain sessions
- Improve usability and performance
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may limit certain features.
2. Children’s Privacy
ChATs is not intended for children under the age of 13.
We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If we become aware that such data has been collected, we will delete it promptly.
Parents or guardians may contact us at admin@chats.cool to request deletion.
3. Sharing of Information
We may share information only in the following cases:
- Third-Party AI Providers: Your message content is shared with the AI service providers listed in Section 1.5 (OpenAI, Google, Anthropic, xAI, DeepSeek, Perplexity AI, Mistral AI) to generate AI responses. Messages may also be routed through OpenRouter as an API intermediary.
- Infrastructure Providers: We use Supabase for authentication and database services, and Google Analytics for aggregated usage analytics.
- Legal Obligations: when required by law, regulation, or legal process
- Business Operations: aggregated and anonymized data for analytics or research
We do not sell personal data that directly identifies users. Each third-party provider processes data according to their own privacy policy (see links in Section 1.5).
4. Data Retention
We retain personal data only as long as necessary to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, and resolve disputes. Anonymized and aggregated data may be retained for longer periods.
5. Your Rights and Choices
5.1 Access and Correction
You may request access to or correction of your personal data by contacting us at admin@chats.cool.
5.2 Opt-Out of Anonymized Data Use
You may opt out of having your data included in anonymized analytics or research by emailing admin@chats.cool with the subject: OPT-OUT Request. Requests are processed within 30 days.
5.3 Account and Data Deletion
You have the right to delete your account and all associated personal data.
How to delete your account:
- In-app: Go to the menu → "My account" → "Delete account". This permanently deletes your account and all associated data immediately.
- By email: Send an email to admin@chats.cool with the subject line:
Delete My Data. Requests are processed within 30 days.
Upon deletion, your account and identifiable personal data will be permanently removed. Some data may be retained if required by law. Anonymized data that cannot be linked to you may be retained.
6. Data Security
We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. However, no system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Intellectual Property
All intellectual property related to the ChATs platform, including software, branding, UI, and content, is owned by ChATs or its licensors.
User-generated content is processed solely for the purpose of providing the Service and improving functionality.
8. International Transfers
Your data may be processed on servers located outside your country of residence. We take reasonable steps to ensure appropriate data protection safeguards.
9. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If material changes are made, we will notify users through the Service or update the “Last Updated” date above.
